Welcome to the RYSA Coaching Blog 2022

Thank you for being coaches this year!! This blog will have session plans, ideas and resources to help with your weekly skills and player development. Game schedules are posted under age levels at the side of this paragraph.  Session plans are posted above.  As always, you as a coach are empowered to make changes to your program as you see fit.  Lets all have a fun and safe time this year.

THE GAME SCHEDULES WERE UPDATED ON MAY 12.  COLOURS WERE ADDED TO TEAMS TO MAKE THE GAME SCHEDULE MORE CLEAR.  GAME SCHEDULES WILL BE POSTED AT THE SOCCER SHED.

Please give yourself a 5-10 meter buffer between field set ups.  Especially for the younger age groups.  This allows for family who wish to cheer on their team members and little ones who are just figuring out their soccer field boundaries.

REFEREE RESOURCES AND SCHEDULE

Hi referees.  This page is to help you organize your refereeing.  Game day will be every Tuesday.  There will be a copy of the rules for small sided soccer posted in the soccer shed as well as access on this page.  https://bcsoccer.net/files/Referee/Documents/Small%20Sided%20Rules_updated%20September%202020.pdf   Your schedule, the team match schedule and an hours sheet for you to check are all posted together in the soccer shed as well.  Please allow yourself enough time to check them and organize yourself.

REFEREE SCHEDULE:

Each group of referees will be on the same field at the same time every week with the teams rotating through the different fields.  Please make sure you know the colour of the teams playing on your field for the day. 

Each field will have one referee (R) and 2 assistant referees (AR).  Those assistant referees who are feeling more confidant can referee and the R role can rotate as the season progresses.  Please meet as a referee team before the game to discuss the roles you wish play. The parent coaches will be able to referee if the referee team wishes.

TEAM SCHEDULES:

SCHEDULE U12/14 BOYS AND GIRLS

 BOYS ON THE CENTENNIAL FIELD 6:15-7:15

GIRLS ON THE CENTENNIAL FIELD 5:00-6:00

Every Tuesday will be game day.  the games are made of 2x25 minute periods with a 5 minute half time.  Every Thursday will be skill development day.  The final week there will be games on Tuesday and Thursday

SCHEDULE U10 BOYS

  BOYS ON THE TRACK FIELD 

TUESDAY AND THURSDAY 6:15-7:15

The first 30 minutes should be skills development.  The second half of the practice will be a 25 minute match.    All matches should be noncompetitive with no score kept.

SCHEDULE U10 GIRLS

 GIRLS ON THE BRONCO FIELD 

    TUESDAYS AND THURSDAYS 6:15-7:15

At this age each match should be 25 minutes.  Two teams will play the first half of the practice and two teams will play the second half of the practice.  With 3 teams this means one team will be playing the entire practice on a 3 day cycle.  The odd team out will work on skills development.    All matches should be noncompetitive with no score kept.

 2022 RYSA SOCCER PHOTO SCHEDULE 

It’s that time of year again and we are planning dates for your individual and team photos to add to your memory books. 

Please see the schedule below. If your child is going to miss their scheduled date please note that without advance notice there won’t be an option to have them added to the team photo. Please reach out and schedule another time to meet up with the photographer before June 1st. 

Photos will be taken between May 19th and June 1st. Prints will be packaged ad distributed back to your coaches the last week of the regular season. If you require additional prints please contact the photographer and make arrangements separately. 

We are going to attempt to shoot all U8/10/14 teams within the first half hour to avoid interrupting game play. Please have your child arrive a few minutes early on their scheduled date so we can start right away. Remember your jerseys! Our sponsors love having team photos and wearing the jerseys they have generously sponsored is important! 

Cancellations due to bad weather will only happen in extreme rain / thunder storms. Light rain wil not require rescheduling.
